Introduction

Hi there friends & family!
We are heading off to New Zealand this Thursday (cannot believe how quickly this is happening). I've established this blog, so that we can communicate pictures and stories and interesting happenings in somewhat "real time" while we are there. From time to time over the next ten days, I'll post a travel journal to keep you up to date with our adventures, states of mind and photos! Remember - New Zealand is 18 hours ahead of EST!!
Bookmark this site, checking back often to see the "haps!". Nadine tells me there will be internet access along the way, so I will update as often as I can.
Here is some information sent before, but I thought I'd post it again... so that you don't forget!

Dear Kate, Kendra, Kristin, Nadine, Mark, Dave, & Josh,
I wanted you to know that I am praying your requests for this trip. I hope it is filled with times of refreshing, joy, laughter and opportunities to share the love of Christ with others! I am so excited for you all! What a GREAT adventure!
Hugs, Kathy
Lord, these wonderful men and women dwell in the Your shelter and rest in Your shadow. You go with them as their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust. So, we come to You asking that You save them from any snares on this trip and any plans of the evil one for harm or disaster. Cover them and let them take refuge in all travel and activities-under the shadow of Your wings. Command Your angels concerning them to guard them in all their ways. Because You love them-rescue them, protect them, answer them, be with them, deliver them, honor them, and give them long life. (Psalm 91)
With the encouragement they have from being united in Christ, let them be like minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose on this trip. Don't let them do anything out of selfishness Lord, but let them be humble of heart. (Phil. 2) Let their love be sincere, being devoted to each other in that love, sharing with each other, praying with and for each other. (Romans 12) Provide opportunities to always look, be aware, and be in awe of Your work in them, through them and around them-as it impacts each other.
Let them put on the attitude of Jesus (Phil. 2) and be made new in the attitude of their minds; and put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness (doing the right thing, for the right reason, with the right kind of love) and holiness.(Eph. 4). Let them be resolved to be imitators of God, as His dearly loved children, & live a life of love (Eph. 5)
Lord, Your joy is their strength! Make their joy complete as they take in all the wonders of this trip so they can proclaim, "For many, O Lord my God, are the wonders You have done" Psalm 40. Their mouths will be filled with LAUGHTER and their tongues with songs of JOY. (Psalm 126)
Give them a heart that is bursting with gratitude for all You are going to do on this trip, Lord. May they enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise; giving thanks to You and praising Your name ...for You are good and Your love endures forever; Your faithful to hear their prayers and You delight in giving them good things. (Psalm 100)
Give them times of refreshing in Your presence. Renew their strength as they are weary and increase their power, confidence, courage, hope, joy, and love for each new day.
Lord, thank you that Your kindness comes with Your love. Let them all be kind and compassionate to one another and add to that-a spirit of forgiveness. Let them share words with each other that build up and benefit their hearts. Let them be encouragers to each other.
Provide times of stillness to know that You are Lord. Let all of creation around them cry out point to You. Let them be in awe! Open their eyes to any and all opportunities to know You Lord, and make you known!
